This is the fourth installment from The Twilight series. So, have anyone of you read this book? What did you think about the ending? If you compared it with those three previous books in the series, which book would be your favorite from the list: Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, or Breaking Dawn. And did you know what Midnight Sun is all about because I think, this is the next book that will come after Breaking Dawn. I'm not quite sure.
I've got all 4 books but I haven't had a chance to read them yet. I hope to someday though. lol
omgomgomg cassandra! i! love! you! twilight is like my life. lol, well not relaly, if it is, then i must be a pretty big loser. which i am, but not that much. lmao. but anyway, i read the first three books and i'm currently reading the fourth one. its soooooo good. i just love it. and midnight sun is twilight in edward's point of view. its just basically the same stuff in twilight. but i still cant wait for it. i know the fourth book is the last one in the series and i'm wicked depressed because of it. but still, i have midnight sun to look forward too, so it wont be that bad. but yeah, twilight rules!
It's an OK series. i think Bella is a little silly, but whatever. It sells. I've read lots of reviews of this book, and many people are disappointed in it. Apparently, all the anticipation of Bella making a choice didn't happen. Most say it's a sloppy ending. I honestly don't know for myself. I'm halfway through twilight, and am pretty bored. Harry Potter is way better.I will finish Twilight, and will probably will finish the series though.
I actually liked these books. I don't like a whole lot of fantasy, but these were pretty good. I'm glad that Bella ended up with Edward, that's for sure. I had a feeling that would happen.
I'm wondering how Midnight Sun will sell, given that it tells the same events as the Twilight series, and everyone knows how those turned out. What kind of plot wil Meyer use to keep the reader in suspense, since we already know the ending? But I like Edward's character, so it will be interesting to read how she writes it from his viewpoint.
Bella is one of the lamest main characters I've ever read, but I absolutely love the series and this book in particular. I keep hearing that people were disappointed in it and it didn't live up to expectations, but I guess I'm just really easy to please. I did want a fight towards the end and all I got was an argument, but other than that I thought it was wonderful, and the twist they threw in with the baby was awesome.
I don't know if I'll read "Midnight Sun"--I guess I probably will, since I want to be Edward's slave for life and it'll actualy be from his point of view, but like the last post said, it will sort of be rehashing old events. Hopefully she can manage to do it in a new way.
I'd have to agree with chelsea, entirely. I love the ending, though I too, was looking for some crazy epic battle. Also, that baby is the most adorable freak, ever! I too, will probably read "Midnight sun." it should be interesting. Also, I love the fact that by the middle of "breaking dawn", I no longer was annoyed with Bella.
To be honest though, we al knew what supposed choice Bella would make, so all the excitement about Bella making a "choice" was sort-of pointless.
I know what you guys mean about Bella being the most lamest character and stuff. But, Stephenie Meyer said in lots of interviews that she's trying to make Bella as human as possible. And i have to say, that bella is extremely human to me. Everything about her is so ordinary. lol. but I dont know, breaking dawn was all that i hoped for. I was relaly disappointed when there wasn't a fight at the end, but still, everything worked out in the end. The twist with the baby was awesome too. Renesmae sounds like the most adorable baby ever. So, i have to say I'm quite contented with how the book turned out. And no matter what other people say, these books are still amazing. Everybody always finds something to moan and groan about every book and they all say that they can make it better. so, i dont really care what they say
As for Midnight Sun, I can't wait to read it. Even though the events will be all the same, I still want to go inside Edward's head and see twilight from his point of view and what the whole experience was like for him. I read the first chapter of it, and it looks really grate.
We aren't exactly moaning and groaning. More like stating fact. Yes, Bella is lame even though she is supposed to be human, I find her to be a ditz. The story is pretty good. Harry Potter is way better. I've heard people trying to compare the two, and it's nuts. I'm not even done with Harry Potter, and I say that. I will finish the series, but to me, there are themes in this series that disturb me. Maybe that's just the english major coming out in me. I don't know. The narator of the books I have is really good though.
Comparing hp to Twilight is like comparing apples and oranges. Jo and Steph have different writing styles and write about different themes. I think the only reason people even compare the two is because HP readers were looking for Twilight to be the same thing. It's not,and we know it. So let's move on.
Wikipedia says that some readers of the Twilight series feel that Bella's appeal is based more on magic than upon character. I wouldn't necisarily use the word 'magic' to describe Bella's appeal, but I can definitely agree with the point. I think readers are drawn to Bella because of Edward's inability to read her mind. We're drawn to her feelings and her choices but not her personality. Is that a bad thing to some? Well, while I wanted to love Bella's personality, this didn't change my love for the series. I'm not really sure what kept me reading. In New Moon, I suppose it was my fascination with Jacob. Eclipse was my least favorite of the four. I felt like the other three books told a story, but the third book was just a detour, backstory, not really relevant to the plot beyond Bella's decision to become a vampire.
I think we can all agree that Renesme is just the cutest thing on the planet. She's sweet, cute, and a charmer of everyone she meets. I would love to see the pictures she transmits to people. It sounds amazing. But my favorite character of the series has to be Jacob Black. I really found myself wishing Bella would stick with Jake. I knew Edward was a better choice, but I couldn't help it. I know what it's like to feel that intense love that draws you to one person over anyone else. But I felt that Jacob treated Bella better in some instances. I didn't like how firm Edward was when he wanted his way. I get that he was trying to be protective, but it seemed a bit overbearing. I also loved how childlike Jacob was, even with his mature ability to love. I was so happy when I read Book II of Breaking Dawn. It really gave us all an insight into his mind. It was a glimpse I was waiting for. And I loved the portrayl of the werewolves.
i thought at some points she was really annoying, but omg omg omg i have to say i love Jake. seriously. his personallity is awesome. is midnight sun supposed to be the 5th one. i heard there's a whole series about edward's point of view, not bella. not sure though. i agree about the baby, that was really cool.
I don't think "Midnight Sun" is exactly the fifth one--"Breaking Dawn" was the last in the series. It's just an add-on sort of thing if I understand it right. I've only heard about that one and I didn't think it was going to be the start of another series, but that would definitely be awesome.
For a while I kind of wanted it to be Jacob instead of Edward, but only because Edward's so protective and manipulative and sort of chauvinistic and stuff. Jacob was much easier with Bella and gave her the freedom she deserved as a person, and didn't sugarcoat everything to keep her from being upset. But, they're too totally different creatures, Edward and Jacob, and Edward is definitely hotter. Lol.
Edward's dominating personality did kind of turn me on, but i agree with Chelsea. As for Midnight Sun, I hear it's supposed to be a companion piece. I believe there will be more books to the series, but I get the impression that they'll be companion pieces rather than genuine sequels.
lol he is hotter, but Jacob had an attitude that I liked. I thought he was more of a bad ass.
